ERHABOR CONFIRMED AS MLSCN REGISTRAR/CEO

The Governing Board of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) at her meeting held on Monday 19th August, 2019, confirmed the appointment of Mr Tosan Erhabor as the substantive Registrar/ CEO of the Council.

The appointment which took effect from 9th June, 2019, is for a period of four (4) years at first instance and renewable only once, subject to performance. The renewal according the chairman of the board, Prof. M. Y. Gwarzo, shall be at the discretion of the governing board.

Prof. Gwarzo, while presenting the letter of confirmation to the Registrar/CEO on behalf of the members of the board wished him a successful tenure in office.

It has come to the attention of the Management of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria ( MLSCN) that clients (Scientists, Technicians and Assistants) are in the habit of paying their practice fees and other required dues to MLSCN staff.
Be informed that the management of MLSCN does not condone or accept this breach of government protocol. Note that all monies to be paid as practice fees, for transcripts or other required payments are to be paid through the Remita platform to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) as directed by the Federal Government of Nigeria for all federal government ministries, parastatals and agencies.
Any illegal payment by any practitioner is done at his/her own risk and MLSCN will not be responsible for such action. MLSCN will also take disciplinary action against any practitioner who fails to adhere to the laid down procedure for making payments for services by government agencies.

Training of Laboratory QMS Mentors

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria announces the training of Medical Laboratory Scientists who wishes to become Laboratory QMS Mentors. This training is scheduled to hold in Abuja from the 27th to 29th of November 2019. At the end of the training, the participants are expected to develop the capacity to provide support to laboratories so that these laboratories can successfully implement laboratory quality management system. The training will cover ISO 15189: 2017 and mentorship skills.
