NOTICE OF SUSPENSION OF ALL OFFICIAL ACTIVITIES
In line with the Federal government directive on closure of all tertiary institutions in Nigeria and OHSF circular HCSF/109/S.1/100 directing all Public Servants on Grade Level 12 and below to work from home following the outbreak of Covid-19 in Nigeria as part of measures to curtail the spread of the virus in the country, the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria hereby suspend ALL official activities (Inductions, Accreditations, Inspections, Meetings etc.) for a period of Six (6) weeks with effect from 23rd march, 2020. This is however subject to review.
Furtherance from the above, you are advised to comply with the Federal and all State Government directives on closure of Schools and other preventive measures.
It is also imperative for you, to immediately provide and enforce the compliance of good Laboratory work practices in all medical Laboratory facilities across the country. Importantly too, ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment and the strict adherence to regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers and the Social distancing measures to curtail the spread of Covid-19.
Please encourage all Medical Laboratory Science practitioners to collaborate with other stakeholders in health by providing accurate, timely and reliable diagnostic services as well as active involvement researches, as the country respond to Covid-19 pandemic.
