NaLECC Overview

The National Laboratory Equipment Calibration Center (NaLECC), owned and managed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), with funding from CDC And technical support from the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) is a center saddled with the responsibility of providing quality calibration services to medical, research and other laboratories in the public and private sector.
The center commenced operation on the 20th of January, 2020 and was formally commissioned by The Hon. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Adeleke Mamora on the 12th of March, 2020.
Scope of calibration include:

  • Speed
  • Volume
  • Temperature
  • Mass

NLECC handles the calibration of the following equipment at the center;

  • Stopwatches ( timers) ,
  • Pipettes,
  • Thermometers.

The calibration of other equipment such as refrigerators, centrifuges, autoclaves, water baths, Incubators, weighing balance etc. are carried out onsite at clients’ facilities.
