MLSCN PARTNERS FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS (FRSC) TO TRAIN ITS DRIVERS

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has successfully organised a comprehensive refresher training programme for the agency’s drivers.
The programme, which took place on the 29th – 31st October, 2024 in Nasarawa State, is part of MLSCN Strategy to improve drivers’ knowledge and skills needed for efficient transportation, prevent accident, and boost drivers’ confidence and professionalism. The training which was highly interactive was meant also to update MLSCN drivers with latest traffic regulations and industry best practices, and covered such modules as: Defensive driving techniques; Vehicle maintenance and safety; Traffic laws and Regulations; Driver/Boss Relationship; Understanding Highway code; Emotional Intelligence and driving; as well as Driver’s etiquettes in contemporary driving distractions
Declaring the program open, the Registrar/CEO, Prof Tosan Erhabor said the training was a reflection of the high value the organization places on the manpower development at all levels which, according to him, is key to accomplishing the set goals of the Council. He, therefore, charged the participants to give the program the deserved attention to enable them to refresh their existing skills while acquiring new ones. “The essence of this partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to handle the training is to guarantee that you learn from the best. Going forward, you must also ensure you put to practice what you learnt after the training,” he said.
The Registrar/CEO, who was represented at the program Mr. Akhigbe Martins, Deputy Director, Administration also reiterated the Management’s commitment towards improving the welfare of staff.
In all, 12 motor drivers participated in the training from across the various departments of MLSCN at the Headquarters.
