MLSCN moves to scale up standard of Medical Laboratory facilities practice
In a bid to scale up the standard of practice in medical laboratory facilities across the country, MLSCN has commenced the training of practitioners to help them transition to the updated ISO 15189:2022 standard. The initiative also seeks to drive improvements in laboratory accreditation processes across the country, ensuring compliance with global standards.The workshop was formally opened by the Registrar/CEO, Prof. Tosan Erhabor. In the address read on his behalf by Dr. Donald Ofili, Deputy Registrar, MLSCN Accreditation Service, Prof Erhabor emphasized the importance of the transition to ISO 15189:2022, highlighting alignment with MLSCN’s mission to ensure quality laboratory service delivery that benchmarks international standards.According to him, “Accreditation is a critical pathway to building trust in diagnostic services and ensuring that laboratory results are reliable, accurate, and globally acceptable. This workshop is designed to empower our medical laboratories to achieve this goal.”
